Information for COVID-19

At The White House, the health and safety of our customers, our staff and our communities have always been at the centre of everything we do, and this is particularly important during these challenging times. Cross infection control has always been paramount to The White House and we have always followed guidelines for best practice of infection control which is executed to an extremely high standard. Our clinics and treatment rooms are set up in a clinical environment and although our treatment is cosmetic and non-invasive we always use PPE such as masks, gloves, and protective eyewear.

The White House only employ fully qualified dental professionals who are extensively trained to operate in a clinical environment. Many of our dental professionals have a bachelor’s degree in dental surgery or are trained and qualified dental nurses. With a medical background, we are fully trained in patient health and welfare regarding procedures for sterilisation, cross infection control and the correct use of our equipment.

The White House clinic orders sterilisation products from the reputable dental supplier, Henry Schein, and as long as we can continue to have access to our PPE and sterilisation we can continue to operate.

The White House standard procedures for cross infection control can be seen here, however, The White House has put in place new additional guidelines in line with the global plans by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Centre for Prevention and Disease Control (ECDC). The Government has published Ireland’s National Action Plan in response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) (pdf).

With this in mind, we wanted to reach out and reassure you that we are putting in place a number of robust measures designed to make health and safety an even higher priority whilst still enabling people to attend for teeth whitening treatments. So, in addition to the already stringent cross-infection control policies, we have implemented the below changes to our clinics. These include:

Sterilisation and removal

  • All doors, handles, entrance, exit, card machines, remote control or anything that a customer may come into contact with, are sterilised using Alkapharm medical grade sterilisation wipes after each treatment.
  • We will only see 1 customer at any given time and appointments will have 30 mins empty time in between to allow all sterilisation process and so that our customers are not in waiting areas together.
  • Every customer on arrival to our clinic must use the provided hand sanitizer.
  • We have removed magazines in the waiting area.
  • All customers will be asked to complete an online treatment consent form and COVID-19 decleration prior to attending for your appointment.
  • We ask that payments are made online where possible if this is not possible we will request that you please pay with Card as we would prefer to avoid cash transactions at this time.

Social Distancing:

  • Until further notice, The White House will not be available to the public, we have implemented a “by appointment only” policy where only customers or visitors will be allowed entry if they have pre-booked an appointment. All enquiries, appointment bookings or other general information requests should be directed to our dedicated call centre or using our live online booking system.
  • When attending your appointment you will be asked to attend alone, if a customer arrives with a friend we will ask the friend to kindly head away for a coffee for the duration of your appointment to avoid excess people in our waiting areas.
  • Where we share medical offices, we have set up additional waiting areas so people attending appointments are separated. the waiting areas are sterilised every hour.
  • Under the new guidelines, we will not shake hands with our customers.
  • We have minimised all staff to only necessary staff in the clinic, this will be just our dental professional, and one customer at a time.
  • All call centre, admin and management staff are working from home, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us we will be happy to answer any questions.
  • Under the social distancing guidelines, we will keep over 2 meters distance for 45 minutes of your 1-hour appointment. The treatment takes about 5 minutes to set up and the teeth whitening lamp is positioned and runs for 3 x 15-minute sessions, in between each session the reset with staff takes about 1 minute. (of course, this is all done with masks, gloves and necessary PPE.)
  • Our staff will keep a distance or sit in the reception area and keep an eye on you from the door during your treatment while you relax and watch TV.

Customer cooperation:

  • You will be asked not to attend if you have had any symptoms of COVID-19

If you have symptoms of coronavirus, you need to stay indoors and completely avoid contact with other people to avoid passing on the virus. Contact your GP by phone and please do not attend your appointment. You will need to self-isolate and we ask you to please reschedule your appointment for at least 2 weeks if

  • If you have symptoms of coronavirus
  • Before you get tested for coronavirus
  • While you wait for test results
  • If you have had a positive test result for coronavirus
  • If you have travelled to a high-risk location in the last 2 weeks.

We would like to reiterate that The White House, follow strict infection control policies and best practices at all times and we hope that you can continue to support local businesses through this challenging time.
