7 ways to feel good about yourself

Ways to feel good about yourself

We’ve written before about why people get their teeth whitened. One of them is that it’s one of many ways to feel good about yourself. If somebody smiles when they’re not happy with their teeth, it’s going to make them self-conscious. If, on the other hand, they love their teeth, they’re going to be a whole lot more confident with bright, white teeth.

Getting your teeth whitened is just one way to feel better about yourself, but there are others. Here are seven examples…

1. Get yourself some exercise

Getting some exercise is clinically proven to make you feel better. The reason is this – endorphins. Endorphins are chemicals that the body produces that make you feel a whole lot better. So the more exercise you have, the more endorphins you produce…the better you feel.

2. Buy yourself something

We all deserve treats every now and again. We all know how happy we are when somebody buys us a present. But presents from others aren’t guaranteed. Presents from yourself, once you’ve the cash to finance them, are.

3. Eat healthy

There’s no denying the fact that pizzas, fish and chips or a curry from the local Indian takeaway are tasty. There’s also no denying that these foods are particularly good for you. Fuel yourself with vegetables, fruit, water instead of fast foods and soft drinks and you’ll feel all the better for it.

4. A random act of kindness

Doing something good for people you know is one thing; doing something good for somebody you don’t is another. Think of something good to do for somebody you know (or don’t) and hopefully you’ll see the joy it brings to them.

5. Get in touch with somebody you haven’t spoken to in a while

I bet there’s somebody who you’d consider a really good friend who you haven’t spoken to in a while. If there is, log on to Facebook and send them a message or pick up the phone and give them a call. You’ll make two people happier that day.

6. Go shopping for somebody else

Has your girlfriend/wife/partner spotted something they said they’d like recently? Is there something they really want (maybe even some teeth whitening!)? There’s somebody somewhere you know who would appreciate a gift. Buy it for them. You’ll subsequently appreciate how much they’re grateful for it.

7. Get enough sleep

You can do all the things you want during the day or week to make you feel better about yourself. Feeling lethargic at the same time will take away from this. Get enough sleep every evening and enjoy doing nice things for other people and yourself.
